How the Ukraine work-visa route works.
Ukraine runs an employer-sponsored system: the Ukrainian company applies for the work permit on the worker's behalf, and the worker then applies for the long-stay visa. In practice it runs like this:
- Employer work-permit application The registered Ukrainian employer submits the work-permit application to its territorial office of the State Employment Service (DSZU), with the worker's passport, translated documents and a draft employment contract.
- Work permit issued Once approved, the permit is issued (validity depends on job category) and the employer confirms the role, salary and location.
- D-type long-stay visa The worker applies for the D visa at the Ukrainian consulate using the work permit, then travels to Ukraine.
- BEOE Protectorate (Pakistan) In parallel, we complete the worker's BEOE Protectorate clearance, attestation and medicals in Pakistan.
- Employment contract & registration The employment contract is signed and a certified copy is submitted to the Employment Service within the required window after signing.
- Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) On arrival, the worker applies for the TRP with the State Migration Service (DMSU) to reside and work legally for the permit period.
