How the route works
A Greek business that wants a worker from outside the EU applies for approval to recruit a named person through the recall procedure (μετάκληση). Once approved, the worker applies for a national D visa at the Greek embassy in Islamabad, travels, and then receives a residence permit that also covers the right to work.
Law 5275/2026, published in February 2026, reshaped this framework. It brings the main employment categories under a single permit that combines residence and work, sets a 90-day target for processing complete applications, and lets workers change employer after six months with the first one. Yearly recruitment numbers per sector are still set by ministerial decision, so it pays to apply early in the cycle.

Frequently asked questions
Who files the application in Greece?
The employer (or a licensed Greek representative) files the recall application. RRI supplies the worker documents in the format the authorities expect.
Does RRI charge the employer?
No sourcing fee is charged to the employer. We agree the service scope in writing before work starts.
Can workers move to another employer later?
Under the 2026 rules a worker can change employer after six months, or earlier in specific cases such as a breach of terms.
Do you handle seasonal workers?
Yes. Seasonal hotel and farm contracts follow a separate seasonal route, and we prepare candidates for both.
