Keeping Pakistani workers past the first 90 days: what employers control

Most early departures are decided in the first month. The causes are predictable, and almost all of them are in the employer's hands.

Why people leave early

When a worker leaves in the first three months, the employer loses the recruitment time, the permit, the flight and the training. In our experience the reasons are rarely the work itself. They are the conditions around it: pay that differs from what was promised, accommodation that does not match the description, food the workers cannot eat, and nobody to talk to when something goes wrong.

1. Pay exactly what the contract says, on time

Workers send most of their salary home, often for school fees or loan repayments due on fixed dates. A late first salary is the single fastest way to lose trust. If deductions apply for food or accommodation, they should be written in the contract and explained before departure, not discovered on the first payslip.

2. Accommodation as described

We describe your accommodation to candidates in detail. If the room has six beds, they are told six. Problems start when the reality is different from the briefing. A simple fix: send us current photos of rooms, kitchens and washrooms, and we show them at selection.

3. Food and prayer

Halal food and a reasonable place and time for prayer matter to most Pakistani workers. Neither is expensive. Employers who let workers cook for themselves, or who arrange a South Asian cook for larger groups, see noticeably fewer complaints.

4. One person who speaks their language

Appoint a group leader or supervisor who speaks Urdu or Punjabi and who workers can approach without fear. Many issues that turn into departures could have been solved in a five-minute conversation in the first week.

5. A clear first week

6. Keep the recruitment agency involved

Tell us early when something goes wrong. We stay in contact with workers we deploy and can often resolve a misunderstanding before it becomes a resignation. Early warning also lets us prepare a tested replacement if it is needed.

The cheapest worker is the one who stays. Most retention fixes cost less than a single replacement flight.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main reason foreign workers leave early?

Differences between what was promised and what they find: pay, deductions, accommodation and food. Clear contracts and honest briefings prevent most cases.

Do you stay in contact after deployment?

Yes. We stay in touch with deployed workers and with the employer so problems are raised early.

What if a worker still leaves?

Tell us as soon as possible. We keep tested reserves and can start a replacement immediately.
